Massive Blue Gum Tree

We recently went out for a picnic in the D'Aguilar National Park and on the way we saw this magnificent BLUE GUM 🌳tree in a paddock which caught my eye. I thought why don’t we take a photo, and so we did. If you look closely I am standing at the base of the tree on the right. Isn’t this a wonderful tree?

We also found an old Sawmill Gantry Crane in the park, not in use, but an amazing piece of history to view. The sawmill operated here from the 1930s, when bullock teams and boilers ran the steam engine, right through to 1981. The shed was added in the 1950s to house an overhead gantry crane and its supports.

Blue gum is a common name for the subspecies or the species in Eucalyptus globulus complex, and also a number of other species of Eucalyptus in Australia.
