Mackay Cedar

I was fortunate enough to spot this beautiful old Mackay Cedar on a recent trip up north. The Mackay Cedar is a large Australian native bushy tree growing 10-25m in height. The colouring of the true wood is a striking reddish orange with a creamy sapwood.

The middle timber slab featured in our photos today is Mackay Cedar.

This timber is used a lot for furniture, book shelves, large and small tables especially boardroom tables. The trees are never cut down. The timber we source is salvaged fallen tree’s due to Cyclones, Heavy Winds, Floods etc. Another interesting specie, Tulip Oak, maybe available in the near future.
